Speech and language

Speech therapists come into school to assess children who might find it harder to communicate.  Some children have difficulties with pronouncing sounds and words.  Others find it more difficult to understand language.  The speech therapists will meet with parents and offer support for developing language at home.  Sometimes children will require an assessment in their home language.  The speech therapists deliver training in school and give advice regarding communication plans, resources and provision to support language development.

The speech and language service have made these videos to help you to support your child to develop their language at home.  These videos are called ‘Weekend Words’.  The full playlist is available on the Trust YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLMIZqixhKCwsc2JPQXnTC-H5G2l4KGffb
At school we have added Roma translation to some of the videos.
