As part of our 'compassionate' month, the whole school looked at how the earthquake had devastated people living in Turkey and Syria.
Our children learned there would be people who had lost family members, children who were orphaned, people who lacked food and clean water. The whole school pulled together to fund raise and make every penny count to supporting the people of Turkey and Syria.
Mr Hassan who led on the fund raising said that the children showed empathy and were determined to help.
Classes stuck pennies on sheets of cardboard to display and be proud of how much money their class raised.
A group of children, the “Oasis Splash and Dash team” washed the teachers’ cars to further raise the total.
We are proud to announce that Oasis Academy Fir Vale raised £830.00! This has been sent to Islamic Relief to help with the work they are doing on the round.
